HEARTBREAK.NYC is a short-form interview project about how people move forward from loss in New York City. Each conversation begins with an ending: a partner, a friendship, a pet, a home, a version of your life that stopped existing. But the focus is on what came after — the adjustments people made, the choices they were forced to confront, and how the city shaped their next chapter. These are not stories about blame or closure. They're about recalibration: how life reorganizes itself when something important falls away and New York keeps moving. It doesn't have to be recent, either. Some of the best stories are years old, old enough to have a shape.Filmed in Bed-Stuy's Fulton Park, HEARTBREAK.NYC documents how people changed where they lived, how they worked, who they let close, and what they stopped tolerating. This project is not therapy and not advice. It's a record of how people stayed, left, or learned to live differently in a city that rarely slows down for personal loss.Email: [email protected]
